Cannabis Tea: How to Brew and Blend with Holistic Herbs

Cannabis tea offers a soothing and therapeutic way to consume cannabis, especially for those who prefer not to smoke or vape. When combined with other holistic herbs, the benefits can be amplified, providing a tailored wellness experience. Here's a simple guide for women on how to make cannabis tea and incorporate other beneficial herbs:

1. Choose Your Cannabis

Firstly, decide whether you want a THC-dominant, CBD-dominant, or balanced strain. Your choice will determine the primary effects of the tea:

  • THC-dominant: More psychoactive, can induce euphoria.

  • CBD-dominant: Non-psychoactive, more for relaxation and potential health benefits.

  • Balanced: A mix of both THC and CBD effects.

2. Decarboxylate the Cannabis

Before adding cannabis to your tea, it needs to be decarboxylated. This process activates the cannabinoids, making them more effective when consumed.

  • Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C).

  • Break up the cannabis buds into small pieces.

  • Spread them evenly on a baking sheet.

  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool.

3. Prepare Your Herbal Blend

Choose other herbs based on the desired effects:

  • For relaxation: Chamomile or lavender.

  • For digestion: Peppermint or ginger.

  • For energy: Ginseng or green tea.

  • For immune support: Echinacea or elderberry.

4. Brew the Tea

  • In a pot, bring water to a boil.

  • Add a tablespoon of coconut oil or butter (this helps extract and absorb the cannabinoids).

  • Add your decarboxylated cannabis and chosen herbs.

  • Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15-30 minutes.

  • The longer it simmers, the stronger the tea will be.

5. Strain and Serve

  • Use a fine strainer or cheesecloth to strain the tea into a cup.

  • Discard the solid materials.

  • Add honey, lemon, or milk to taste, if desired.

6. Store Any Extras

If you've made a large batch, you can store the extra tea in the refrigerator for up to a week. Just reheat before serving.

Making cannabis tea is a relatively straightforward process that allows for a lot of customization. By incorporating holistic herbs, you can tailor their tea to address specific health concerns or desired effects. Remember, the potency of cannabis can vary, so start with a small amount and adjust as needed. Always consult with a healthcare professional before introducing cannabis or any new herbs into your regimen.
